Nobody has time for the flu to disrupt their life. The flu can have serious health complications, which is why many people choose to be vaccinated each year.
You can have your flu vaccination at MC Medical & Dental in Docklands. Our environment is calm, modern and we have skilled nurses and doctors.
Our nurses can administer the flu vaccine and bulk bill your visit so that the only charge is the $20 cost of the flu vaccine.
Or you can choose to have a doctor administer the vaccination during a standard consultation ($100 for consult including the vaccine, with $37.05 rebated via Medicare). Don't forget to bring your Medicare card to you appointment.
You maybe eligible for a free flu vaccine under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) if you meet one of the following criteria:
- People aged 65 years and over
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait people aged six months to less than five years
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are aged 15 years and over
- Pregnant women
- People aged six months and over with medical conditions that can lead to complications from influenza such as people who have heart disease; or have lung disease or asthma; or have another chronic illness, including diabetes and renal failure; or have chronic neurological condition, including multiple sclerosis and seizure disorders; or have an immune compromising condition, including HIV infection; or are aged five to 10 years and are receiving long-term aspirin therapy or are pregnant
